CHINA sekali lagi mengatasi negara Barat khasnya Amerika Syarikat (AS) dengan membina superkomputer terpantas dunia.
Tianhe-2 yang bermaksud Bima Sakti2, dilaporkan dua kali ganda pantas daripada rekod sebelum ini iaitu lebih 338 juta berbanding komputer biasa.
Superkomputer ini dibangunkan sepasukan pakar dari Universiti Teknologi Pertahanan di bandar Changsha, sekali gus berkemampuan pengkomputeran berterusan sebanyak 33.86 petaflops sesaat.
"Ia bersamaan pengiraan 33.860 trilion sesaat dengan jumlah purata berfungsi sekitar 100 juta sesaat," kata salah seorang pencipta Tianhe-2.
Lapor majalah Top500, China kini berada di kedudukan teratas mendahului AS selain Jepun menduduki tempat keempat. - MailOnline

Saya harap dengan penjelasan ini, dapatlah anda dan saya memahami serba sedikit ttg super komputer ini. Antara fungsi super komputer adalah membuat ramalan kaji cuaca , kajian angkasa lepas dan banyak lagi.
Kalau sebelum ini, kita cuma dengar negara-negara seperti USA dan Jepun yang memiliki super komputer, perkara tersebut sudah berubah.
